Healthy, Delicious Homemade Hotel Breakfasts

When you’re traveling, you tend to eat at restaurants a lot more but sometimes you just want something simple, tasty, and healthier than what you can buy from a restaurant. Not to mention, eating in a great way of saving a little money to be spent on other adventures and foods when traveling. One way to do this is by having breakfast in your hotel room.

Aim to find a hotel that includes a breakfast in the price of the stay meal. Or find a B&B. But if you can’t, breakfast is one of the simplest items to prepare in a hotel room.

If you know you’ll be staying in one city for a long time, look for accommodation options that have a built in kitchen or at least a fridge. A microwave is useful as well.

With a fridge, you can stock up on various deli meats, cheeses, yoghurt, juices, or milk from the local market for your breakfast. Add in a loaf of bread and some fruit and vegetables and you have yourself a simple and delicious breakfast. If you don’t have a fridge in your room, you can try using your ice bucket as an improvised cooler for small items.

If your room has a microwave, you can cook a number of things. Make scrambled eggs easily in a bowl or mug. Cook bacon by placing it between two sheets of paper towel. Combine them together with some bread and you’ve got yourself a breakfast sandwich. You could even make hard boiled eggs in the coffee machine.

With a bit of planning, you can even pack some muesli or your favourite cereal along with you for the trip and just pick up some milk. Or you can make your own breakfast bars for the trip and eat it with some fresh fruit.
